Our Programmes

A.    Programme for replacement of the military dictatorial regime with a democratic civilian government

The party shall:

  1. By all means, strike off the 2008 Constitution that the Burmese military regime tailored in order to enjoy a perpetual rule in the pretext of being an elected civilian government;
  2. Work towards an emergence of mass movements dedicated to a political change to democracy in order to overthrow the military dictatorial regime;
  3. Put all of its utmost efforts into forming a strong and meaningful alliance front of political forces against the Burmese military regime;
  4. Strive for support from the international community for the democracy movements in Burma using various approaches.

 

B.  Programme for Building a National Unity

The party shall:

  1. Eliminate all manners of national chauvinism and ethnomania;
  2. Advocate for the just struggle of ethnic nationalities for equality and self-determination in Burma in order to gain support and understanding from the Burmese people;
  3. Counteract the propaganda and construction of misleading public opinions by the Burmese successive ruling regimes against the just struggle of ethnic nationalities in Burma;
  4. Cooperate with other political movements including ethnic nationality movements in Burma for the elimination of national oppressions;
  5. Endeavor to create a federal union in Burma.

 

C. Programme for Party Building

The party shall:

  1. Endeavor to develop the organization in order to become a professionally qualified political party;
  2. Work for developing into a party which is politically and organizationally healthy and strong;
  3. Build intra-party unity through a practice of internal democracy using a system of democratic leadership;
  4. Focus on setting up underground party organizations inside Burma and strengthen their political and organizational capacities.
