Burmese Service
Launched in September 1940 at the outbreak of war in the Far East, the BBC Burmese Service celebrated its 60th anniversary in September 2000. They broadcast one hour and fifteen minutes per day, a half hour in the morning and forty-five minutes in the evening. Radio Free Asia was established in March 1996 as a private corporation with funding approved by a vote of the U.S. Congress, but channeled through the Broadcasting Board of Governors which overseas all U.S. international broadcasters. RFA "seeks to promote the rights of freedom of opinion and expression, including the freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any medium regardless of frontiers" (RFA mission statement). The Burmese Service was launched in February, 1997 and broadcasts into Burma in Burmese two hours a day, seven days a week.

- Voice of America (VOA) Burmese
Service
Established in June of 1943, the Burmese Service is one of the oldest language services in the Voice of America, an international multimedia broadcasting service funded by the U.S. Government. The VOA Burmese Service broadcasts to Burma ninety minutes per day, with three broadcasts in the morning, evening, and night, Rangoon time.

The Burmese radio program has been broadcast since 19th September 1992 until present day, on 98.5 MHz, FM 2000 Radio, Sydney, Australia. The Burmese Program goes on air every Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00(F.M 2000 Radio).225 Rawson Street
